Sport at Streeton

Inter-School Sport

At Streeton Primary School, students in Years 5 & 6 have the exciting opportunity to participate in the Watsonia District Inter-school Sport competition each Friday. This competition not only allows students to represent the school but also helps them develop essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and perseverance. Through their involvement in a range of sports, students can deepen their knowledge of game strategies, refine their physical skills, and gain confidence in a competitive yet supportive environment.

Summer Sport, held in Term One, offers students the chance to compete in a variety of outdoor sports including Cricket, Bat Tennis, Basketball, and Rounders. These sports provide students with the opportunity to develop coordination, communication, and collaboration, while enjoying the friendly competition against other schools in the district.

Winter Sport, conducted in Term Two, focuses on sports such as AFL, Soccer, Netball, and Softball. Students participate in these more physically demanding sports, working together as a team to sharpen their fitness, resilience, and tactical awareness.

At Streeton Primary, we are proud to maintain an inclusive approach to our Interschool Sports Program. Regardless of ability level, we ensure that every student is given the opportunity to participate, learn, and grow through sport. Whether students are highly skilled athletes or just beginning to explore their sporting interests, we prioritise creating a supportive and encouraging environment that promotes physical health, sportsmanship, and personal development for all students.

Whole School Sporting

At Streeton Primary School, we believe that physical activity is essential for the well-being and development of every student. Throughout the year, we provide a range of whole-school sporting activities that encourage participation, teamwork, and fun.

Swimming Lessons
Our swimming lessons are designed to teach students important water safety skills, improve their swimming abilities, and build confidence in the pool. Catering to all skill levels, these lessons ensure that every child can progress at their own pace while developing essential life skills in the water.

Athletics Days
Our athletics days are a highlight of the school calendar, bringing the entire school together for a celebration of physical activity and sportsmanship. Students participate in a variety of track and field events, encouraging healthy competition, teamwork, and personal achievement. These days offer an opportunity for students to build resilience, showcase their talents, and enjoy being part of a supportive, active community.
